Have you ever wanted to work in a café?
Many of our friends in Special Beauty have dreams of someday working in a café and we wanted to make that happen.
With the help of very generous sponsors and supporters we were able to open a space for everyone to experience what it is like to work in a café.
Our participants come in for training about an hour before the café opens.
We learn about the different aspects of the café, practice a little, then welcome our guests.
When the café opens, all of the jobs are done by Special Beauty participants and the volunteer staff just stands back and watches.
There are a few things our customers understand.
- they might not get what they ordered
- it might take some time to get your order to you
- we don’t give change at check-out (the change becomes a donation to Special Beauty)
All of our customers have big hearts and are very welcome to the service they receive.
